Dennis Mastro Obituary
Raleigh, NC: Suddenly while vacationing in Mexico on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the age of 66, passed away at his wife Jacqueline Mastro's side. Predeceased by his father, Dominic Mastro and mother, Betty Mastro. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Mastro; children, Casey Mastro, Rebecca Mastro, Ashley Lesh, Chip Lesh, Sean Corbin; sisters, Darlene Mastro Munson, husband Steve, Michelle Mastro Eramo, husband Esa, Fredda Gilmartin, husband Dan; and many more friends and relatives. Denny will be deeply missed and loved by all whose lives he enriched and affected. As a community leader, Dennis served as Chairman of the Board of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Tompkins Cortland Community College Foundation, as well as serving on the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network board and the Tompkins County Workforce Development board. He was a 33-year employee of New York State Electric & Gas Corp., serving in multiple managerial capacities until his retirement in 2003, afterward working as Energy Smart Communities Coordinator for the Cornell Cooperative Extension until 2009. Calling hours for Denny will be held noon to 2 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, NY 13820. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Denny's honor to: BuildingNewHope.org for project Casa Lupita Animal Health Clinic, dedicated to serve homeless and abused animals.

Still miss my friend especially at golf season. He will always remain in my thoughts. We worked together at NYSEG for years and had a mutual friend, Bill Kleitz. He passed way way too young! RIP Denny.

I knew Denny casually through business, and enjoyed his company and sense of humor. I became more fond of him after meeting Rebecca, and then Casey as they are both loving expressions of life and my heart goes out to them during this sad time. His Love will be with You forever.

Denny Mastro...a dear close friend, a confidant, an advisor. A person that meant so much to me for so many years in so many ways. I miss you Denny.
