Edward D. McLean

Attorney Edward D. McLean, age 90, died October 25, 2020 at Mankato House Care Center. A memorial service will be Saturday, November 9 at 2 pm at Centenary United Methodist Church with visitation 1 hour before. Mr. McLean was born May 13, 1912 in St. Paul. He graduated from St. Paul Central High School, Hamline University, and William Mitchell College of Law. He married Beatrice Ann Dilley in 1937. He practiced law for more than 55 years in St. Paul and Mankato. Mr. McLean was chairman of the Blue Earth County Republican Committee, the Second Congressional District Republican Committee, and was a delegate to the 1952 Republican National Convention. He served on the Mankato School Board and was the Board's attorney for four decades. He was Hamline University National Alumni President and a member of the University Law School Board. He was a director of the Mankato State University Foundation Board. Mr. McLean is survived by his wife; one son, Edward F. McLean; one daughter, Marilyn McLean Johnson; one sister, Bonney Jean McCammon, and seven grandchildren. One son and a sister preceded him in death. Mankato Mortuary 1-507-388-2202
