George Wiltsie Obituary

Wiltsie, George H.

George H. Wiltsie, 90, of Newfield, NY passed away peacefully on June 13, 2013, at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by family. He was born in Cortland, the son of the late Harold and Frances Wiltsie. He was raised in Cortland. He studied at Amherst College. During WWII he served on the ground in France and Germany from D-Day through the end of the war. Following the war he returned to Cortland, married his wife, Jane, and had his four children and joined the family-owned department store, G.H. Wiltsie's. Later he continued in retail both in NY State and Michigan. He ended his work life by working for Experience Works within the Dept of Labor. He is survived by his four children and three grandchildren. A private graveside family memorial will be the only services. Memorial contributions may go to Wounded Warriors or other veterans' groups.

My condolences to the Wiltsie family and Georges' friends, I met George through Experience Works and worked with him for a short while. I loved his humor, compassion and company. Rest in Peace, George!
