How many thoughts are brought back when I learn of anothers passing, from South Hill. I was Patsy paper boy about 55 years ago Patsy was always kind and a good talker. I used to always wake him up when I collected for the papers, such a good sport.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Patsy family. Patsy seemed to be everywhere when I was growing up on South Hill. Get togethers, fishing trips, The Coddington, my paper route, etc. I was lucky enough to see him at a memorial service a few years ago! We had a good talk and he told me about all the trouble I almost got in as a kid. I'm grateful for that memory.

Poppy, I will truly miss you the most. You have always had a great impact in my life. Even when I moved away you always came to stay with your family. We had a close bond that will never go away even in your passing. You will always be in my heart. There is not a day that goes by that you are always there in my thoughts and I have such fond memories of your love for my family. Your famous phrase "Yolanda will do it".
Love you forever, your daughter.

Dearest Louie & the Elmo Family,
I was so fortunate to have met Patsy when I began my job in 1980 at The Coddington. I was then just as fortunate to have met the rest of the gang over my 10 years there. What a group and how I felt so loved by them all. He so excepted my very small stature, loved that my nick-name was "Louie" and couldn't believe that such a big voice could come out of such a little person. Especially when I was standing my ground against someone or something. I guess I got that from my own Dad, Richard (Dick) Holley, who also was blessed to have been a good friend of the Elmo brothers. Patsy was wonderful to me throughout my years at the Coddington and beyond. I will forever cherish our times together and the joy he expressed everytime he was able to see our children and how much they had grown since the last time. May God help you all find peace and comfort in the memories over theses next few weeks as you grieve the loss of such a special man. I will miss you Pasty.

I lived next door to Patsy for a couple of years and always thoroughly enjoyed listening to his carpenter and military stories. He was very proud of his family, especially his grandson, he couldn't wait for Sunday football, it was a highlight for him. I used to get a kick out coming home from work and watching Patsy supervising the construction that was going on across the street, he was quite a sight. Knowing Patsy made me a better person, he will always be my favorite neighbor! Mike & Lynnette Blenman
