Veva Padbury Obituary
MARATHON - Veva M. Padbury, 87, of Marathon, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008. She was a most beloved mother and grandmother who lived her days with her heart so open for her family and passed knowing their love for her, July 21, 1920 - July 6, 2008. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Charles Wagner. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Bradley) Padbury Hill, Cortland, New York; grandchildren, Valerie "Jo" (John Slocum) Fox, David (Denise) Fox, Kimberly (Ronald) Fuller, Linda (Willard Harriger) Fox, Adam (Betsy Soshinski) Hill, Shawna (Shane) Stone; also 11 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Christopher, Shelby, Jennifer, Jessica, Chelsea, Trentyn, Dawson, Nathan, Marissa; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a proud employee of 26 years at Cornell University and Cortland Office of the Aging.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 1 p.m. from A.C. Baker & Son Funeral Home, 26 E. Main Street, Marathon, New York, with Reverend Ron Wenzinger officiating. Burial will be in Marathon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at A.C. Baker & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 12:00 (Noon) until service time at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Marathon Health Center, 22-24 E. Main Street, Marathon, New York 13803. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hurley and staff.

I will always remember when my brother and I were little, Aunt Veva would always tell us we were precious (Aunt Grace used that phrase quite often too) & was always asking our Nana & Papa "how are those kiddies", she made me laugh!

VEVA WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUNTS. SHE LOVED TO GET MY LETTERS FROM FLORIDA. WOULD ALWAYS BE CONCERNED IF I WAS WELL. WE LOVED HER DEARLY.
