Eunice M. Schmidt

Eunice M. Schmidt, 88, died Wednesday (Nov. 16, 2016) at Bethesda Home, Goessel, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 16, 1928, in Goessel, the daughter of Victor and Elma Klassen Schroeder.

A lifetime resident of Goessel, she was a homemaker, with her family being the joy of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age 10 and was baptized at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in 1944. Later she joined the Goessel Mennonite Church. She married Wilbert Schmidt on June 13, 1950, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel; he survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Dyann (William) Bockstahler of Homewood, Illinois; a son, Kenley (Susan) of Rochester, Minnesota; a sister, LaVerna Ediger of Inman; four brothers, Goldwyn Schroeder of Sacramento, California, Johnny Schroeder of Hesston, Jimmy Schroeder of Canton and Ira Don Schroeder of Parker, Colorado; four grandchildren, Christopher Bockstahler of Eastbourn, England, Elizabeth Bockstahler of Homewood, Illinois, Kamil Baker of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jorie Schmidt of Rochester, Minnesota; as well as one great-granddaughter, Kenna Baker of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Schmidt.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (Nov. 18, 2016) at Bethesda Home in Goessel. Burial will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 19, 2016) at the Goessel Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 20, 2016) at the Goessel Mennonite Church, with Pastor Brad Penner presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Home or Goessel Mennonite Church, both in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Goessel.
