Eva Andres Obituary

Eva Mae Andres Eva Mae Andres, 91 died December 26, 2022 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. She was born December 13, 1931 in Buhler, Kansas to John J. and Eva M. (Willems) Sawatzky. On July 23, 1950 she married Harold K. Andres at Buhler Mennonite Church and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1999. Eva Mae was a long-time active member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton. She was a loving homemaker and worked as a partner with her husband on the family farm. Eva Mae is survived by her children: Cindy (Daryl) Unruh; Marsha (Rodney) Schmidt; Chris (Paul) Unruh; and Mark (Andrea) Andres. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Sawatzky and sister Mary Ann Johnson. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, 2022 at First Mennonite Church in Newton with Pastor Luke Unruh presiding. Burial will precede the service at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to MCC or First Mennonite Church and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
