Lawrence D. "Lonny" Drinnen

LAWRENCE D. DRINNEN Lawrence "Lonny" D. Drinnen 79 of Peabody Kansas went to be with his lord after a long struggle with several Health issues on August 2, 2024 with his wife by his side. Lonny was born October 14, 1944 in Marysville Kansas to Homer and Darlene (Lilibirdge) Drinnen. On May 18, 1963 he married the love of his life Gloria J. Holder in Wichita Kansas at Memory Lane Baptist Church. He attended Wichita West High School. After high school he worked for beech Aircraft in Wichita Kansas, He then went to work for Santa Fe Railroad on July 13, 1970. He worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to Structures Supervisor on November 15, 1933. He retired on December 31, 2004. He enjoyed family get together, hunting, fishing, water skiing and watching the Kansas City Chiefs football, Kansas City Royals and NASCAR. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson's play baseball, vacations with his wife and restoring old cars. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Gloria J. Drinnen, son Todd D. Drinnen, Daughter Misty D. Drinnen, grandchildren Trey and Staci Drinnen, Brock and Alyssa Drinnen, Richard C. Grace, Gunar and Kayla Drinnen and Austin B. Hiebert. He had 10 great grandchildren. Kasen, Chevelle, Jamie and Samson Grace, Julian and Taliah Drinnen and Jaylee, Kinzlee, Brynlee and Lorenzo Drinnen. He is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Darlene Drinnen, sister Sharon Drinnen and grandparents John and Anna Drinnen. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 17, 2024 at 3:00 pm. at the American Legion 108 N. Walnut Street, Peabody, Kansas. Memorial contributions can be made out to the family and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home. The family would like to give a special thank you to Good Shepherd Hospice for helping us through this difficult time in his final days.
