Kenyon - James "Jim" Allan Nesseth, age 59, of Menomonie, formerly of Kenyon, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 18, 1966, to the late Audrey (Kindseth) and Orester Nesseth in Kenyon. Jim graduated from Kenyon High School in 1984, and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1984 to 1988. During his time in the Marines, Jim was stationed in Yuma and Okinawa, where he walked some of the same battlefields as his father. He also met his lifelong best friend and fellow Minnesotan, Michael Gleason.
After being honorably discharged, Jim attended St. Cloud State and graduated with a degree in English Education in 1995. In 1996, Jim married Annette White, and they had two beautiful girls, Gabrielle Ann and Sonja Marie. They later divorced but remained close friends and great coparents. Jim worked as a technical writer for Minco Products for nearly 14 years. He then worked for Andersen Windows as a quality technician until his diagnosis. In 2014, Jim married Aimee Quirin Wollman and they resided in Menomonie, WI for the majority of their marriage until their divorce, but continued to be close friends.
Jim loved Pink Floyd, the Minnesota Vikings, home brewing beer, and a good dad joke. The annual trips to Indianapolis with Mike were non-negotiable. Jim had a deep commitment to family which resulted in having a large family Christmas, playing cards with, and cooking for his cherished loved ones. Jim's soft heart gave him a knack for photography and his enthusiasm to learn was shown in his research of World War II History.
Jim is survived by his two daughters whom he loved dearly, Gabrielle and Sonja; his step sons Jonathan (Laurie), Christopher (Sarah), and Timothy; his five sisters: Linda Watson, Shari (Dan) Quam, Ann (Ron) Kleve, Paula (Kevin) Clark, and Gail (Scott) Nelson; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; his uncle, Roger (Anita) Kindseth; many cousins; and his former wives and dear friends, Aimee and Annette.
