Joshua Franklin Nystuen

1981 - 2025

Kenyon - Joshua Franklin Nystuen, 44, of Kenyon, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

Joshua Franklin Nystuen was born on January 6, 1981, in Rochester, MN, the second child born to Brian and Jane Nystuen. He spent his early years in Dodge Center where his family lived at the time. The family moved to Kenyon in 1992, to the Nystuen family farm.

Josh was home-schooled from kindergarten through 12th grade. He participated in basketball and was on the track and field team for Kenyon-Wanamingo, earning all-conference in both sports.

He married Sara Davidson on December 27, 2003. To this union, three children were born: Grace Elizabeth (20), Seth David (14), and Evelyn Anne (12). The couple later divorced.

Joshua is survived by his parents; three children; two sisters, Calli (Steven) Walstad of Buffalo, MN, and Brianna (James) Jarvis of Wanamingo; and two brothers, Jacob and Benjamin Nystuen, both of Kenyon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Caleb, in 2017.

His three children were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching them participate in their many church and school activities. Sundays were his favorite days when his kids would come to the farm. They enjoyed many activities and games together, especially playing cards.

Josh fought a courageous battle against cancer and was grateful to be able to spend his last days and months at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at New Life Church in Wanamingo, with a visitation from 11am until the time of service. Josh will be laid to rest at the Kenyon Cemetery
