Arthur Benjamin Obituary

Arthur K. Benjamin, retired assistant principal, 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022.

He was the son of the late Prince and late Jessie Kennedy Benjamin of Florence County.

Survivors include his wife, Manola; sons, Anthony Benjamin of Rockville, Md., and Raynard Byrd of Fort Mill; one daughter, Deborah King of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at First Washington Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Johnny L. Rose.

Viewing is 1-6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at McMullen Funeral Home.

The Omega Psi Phi Funeral Ritual is 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at McMullen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the American Kidney Foundation, kidneyfund.org, in memory of Arthur Benjamin.

McMullen Funeral Home is in charge.

My Dear Cousin Tommy...We will miss you so much. I will always remember the Amazing Thanksgiving Gatherings we shared in Lancaster with you guys. They were priceless and so worth the ride from Florence. I am honored that you shared your fruit punch recipe with me. There will always be a part of you with us. Our Condolences go out to all family & friends. We loss a great community scholar. Mr. Ben helped paved a way for many of us. He was a great mentor with that beautiful smile. He has left a great void in our community that can never be filled. Hats off to you Mr. Arthur K. We will definitely miss you at our church, First Washington. Our family sends our continuous prayers and love - Be Encouraged Psalm 121.

My heart was filled with grief when I learned of the passing of Mr. Benjamin. I praise God for Mr. Benjamin and the powerful and impactful life lessons he imparted in me and forever changed my life in such a positive way. Whether it was as my mentor, Sunday School Teacher at First Washington Baptist Church or Assistant Principal at Barr Street Middle School Mr. Benjamin was a caring person.

Thanks, Mr Benjamin for everything and Rest In Heavenly Peace and well done thy good and faithful servant - Matthew 25:21-23.
