Linda Mills Obituary
She was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late John A. Keye and the late Zulee Morton Keye and was the loving wife of James T. "JT" Mills.
Linda was employed for years with Duracell in the Industrial Engineering Department. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining, especially at Christmas. Having friends and family over was her way of blessing others with a meal and fellowship. Her contagious smile and laughter would light up a room, and her heart was pure and true. Linda's greatest joy was being "Grandma" to her grandchildren.
After retirement, traveling with JT, family and friends were some of her favorite times in life. She was a member of the Lancaster Red Hat Society. Linda loved serving Jesus in each church she attended, which included, Temple Baptist, Second Baptist, and Springhill Baptist. Her roles included singing in the choir, GA Leader, Preschool Teacher and Director, Senior Adult Director, and other various committees. She was currently a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, JT Mills; son Derrick Mills (Joyce); daughter, Melanie Mills Hall (Jeff); four grandchildren, Matthew Mills (Kristen), Daniel Mills (Rebecca), Andrew Hall (Allison), and Alex Hall (Zach); three great-grandchildren; brother, John Michael Keye (Pam); sister, Margaret Catoe; brother-in-law, Doug Plyler; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy Plyler; and brother-in-law, Robert Catoe.
The Celebration of Linda's beautiful life will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Springhill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Brad Threatt. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Springhill Baptist Church, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
