Norman Dobson Obituary
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Jerry Hartley Funeral Home, 684 Hubbard Drive, Lancaster, 803-285-8000.
The Rev. Dobson was born in Marion, Ind., a son of the late George Washington Dobson and Viola Saltman Dobson. He was married to Mary Ramp Dobson for 62 years.
He was an ordained minister, having preached the gospel since he was 18 years old, and pastor of Christian Life Center. He was also an auctioneer, insurance adjuster and jack-of-all-trades.
Rev. Dobson is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ramp Dobson; one son, Rod Dobson of Columbia; four daughters, Cindy Garcia of Texas, Gwinn Jones (Earnie) of Alabama, Kristy Dobson and Starla Osteen (Stephen), both of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren, Danny Caffumen, Josh Caffemen, Craig Jones (Tracie), Norman G. Dobson III (Jennifer), Jessie L. Pardue Dobson (Danielle), Jordan Dobson (Anna), Lee Weed (Teniah) Courtney Osteen, Kelsey Osteen, Stephen Osteen Jr., Dallas Osteen and Darius Weed; 12 great-grandchildren; a daughter in-law, Angie P. Dobson; and one brother, the Rev. Rex Allen Dobson (Patricia) of Marion, Ind. He also served as associate pastor in Bloomsburgh, Pa., with the Rev. Norman Dobson.
The Rev. Dobson was preceded in death by one son, the Rev. Norman G. Dobson Jr.
The funeral services for the Rev. Dobson are being directed by Jerry Hartley Funeral Home in Lancaster.

So glad we were able to see Norm recently. He will be sorely missed. I remember when he first came to Church. Norm was always a positive example. We look forward to seeing him on the other side. We´re praying for The family.
