Fred and I communicated through social media and I told him that when I came to Hermitage Tn to visit my daughter that I would call him, but that never happened. We were cousins raised in the same community, but never met each other. I only knew his mother, Annie, his sister Minnie and her children and his brother Louis and his wife. I hate I never got a chance to meet him, I know I would have like him. He and my father looked just alike and according to his sister, he knew my father. This is why we need to meet and keep in touch with our relatives. Your children may contact me. I am friends with Duwayne on FB.
May the Good Lord Bless and Keep the family in his arms for eternity.

Once again God saw the road was getting rough, and the road of life had become too hard to for CSM Fred Douglas Dale, former member of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell in the 1960s to travel and called him home. There is nothing that anyone can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in time of sorrow, but the NCO Corps will offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of these heroes will carry through each day and night. The NCO Corps thanks him for his selfless service act and his willingness to defend the United States of America and all that we hold sacred. Though tears can never bring him back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that they made and our sorrow at his passing. Additionally, the NCO Corps thanks everyone for keeping him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. There are many in the ranks that believe for every fallen sergeant major like him there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift God has given the Corps. Rest easy, sleep well my brother. Know the line was held, your job is done. Rest easy, sleep well. Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held. Peace, peace, and farewell
