CANOVA, 90

YALAHA - Canova, Bert, 90 years old, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2010.
Bert was born May 24, 1919 in Campville, FL to Nolan and Amy Canova. His family moved to Auburndale and then to Ocala where he graduated high school. Bert attended the University of Florida where he was in the marching band. His military career included being a Capt. in the USMC as a flight instructor at Pensacola Florida. During WWII he flew a B-25 in the Philippines. Major Bert Canova and his two brothers were gifted musicians and played in dance bands for many years and was retired from the Railroad and the Drummond Press.
He is preceded in death by first wife, Doris, and second wife, Ellyne, and brothers, Nolan and Twin brother Bruce Canova. Survivors include two sons and one daughter numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at The Springs Clubhouse, Yalaha, FL on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.

Although I never had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Canova,As a brother MarineI would like to express my condolences to his family.
Rest assured he now guards the street of Heaven watching over us all.

Although I did not know Bert I am saddeded by his passing as I know that Buddy, Joni and the family are hurting. My thoughts and prayer go out to the entire family.
