CALAMUNCI, 58
Retail Manager
LAKELAND - Carl Calamunci, 58, of Lakeland, passed away March 13, 2011 from complications of lymphoma.
In 1992, he left his birthplace of Jamestown, NY to fulfill a lifelong dream to move his family to sunny Florida.
Carl is survived by his wife Cathy of 34 years; his children Christopher, Sarah, and Alex; his mother Carmela; 2 brothers Nino and Tindaro Calamunci; 2 sisters Connie Bartkowiak and Grace Carroll; his grandchildren Lacee, Leonidas, Sophia, Phoebe, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his dog Diesel.
He had a special gift to make everyone around him laugh. His magnetic personality and dedication to his family were second to none.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. John Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Serenity Gardens, Lakeland at 1:00 pm. Friends may call at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 N on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. John Greek Orthodox Church, Tampa, FL or his family.
He will truly be missed. We love you Carl.

Calamunci Family and Friends of Carl:
Personally, I think Carl was a pure genius! He was so quick with his thoughts and he really paid attention to the people around him. In only "his" way, you felt loved. THAT'S what we need more of in this world.
What a blessings Carl Calamunci was to everyone lucky enough to know him.
If we could immulate what Carl did so naturally, our world would be a better place.
What a sensational legacy follows this sweet man. A family full of love!
