CAROL WECHMAN Obituary
WECHMAN, 79
JACKSONVILLE - Carol Lindsey Wechman, 79, passed away peacefully on December 13, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Carol was born on October 5, 1938, in Crestwood, Kentucky to Fred Maurice and Frances Elizabeth (Robinson) Lindsey.
Carol was a 1956 graduate of Oldham County High School. After a brief assignment as a stenographer for the FBI in Washington, DC, Carol moved to Huntsville, Alabama, to work for the Missile Research Division of Chrysler Corporation. It was there where she met Raymond Wechman, who was an Army Engineer at Redstone Arsenal. Carol and Ray were married on June 7, 1958, at the Duncan Memorial Chapel in Floydsburg, Kentucky.
In 1962, the Wechman Family moved from Huntsville to Morris County, New Jersey, where they lived until 1996. While in New Jersey, Carol began working for Crum & Forster Life Insurance Company and rose to Assistant Vice President of MetLife Insurance Company.
In 1996, Ray and Carol began a two year adventure traveling around the United States in their motor home. They eventually settled in Frostproof, Florida. They made many friends in Frostproof and were active in the First Presbyterian Church in Frostproof. They moved to Jacksonville, Florida in June 2017.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Ray and her devoted children, Raymond (Janie) of Georgetown, KY, Deborah (Mark) of Raleigh, NC, and Brian (Paulette) of Jacksonville, FL, her grandchildren Thomas, Stephen (Sarah), and Stephanie, and her great granddaughter, Eleanor. She also is survived by her adoring canine companion, Jessie. She is also remembered by many other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held at Stoess Funeral Home in Crestwood, Kentucky on December 18th from 1pm to 3pm. Immediately following the visitation, the Rev. Larry Childress of Crestwood Christian Church will deliver the funeral service at the funeral home. A brief graveside and burial service will follow at Floydsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Raymond and Brian Wechman, Mark Stanglin, Thomas Wechman and Lindsey Apple.
