CHARLES S. "BOB"
MORGAN, 92
USAF, Retired

LAKELAND - Mr. Charles S. "Bob" Morgan, 92, died on April 11, 2008 of an aneurysm.
He was born July 30,1915 in Punta Gorda, FL. He grew up in the Ft. Myers area, moving to Polk County when his father, Reden L. Morgan, relocated to work as an electrician with the local phosphate mines and the City of Lakeland. Bob enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression. He enlisted in the United States Air Force prior to WWII and retired in 1964. Following retirement he was self employed.
Bob enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences as a young man growing up in Florida. He was a member of the Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club and had driven his 1947 Lincoln to Dearborn MI for an eventful car show. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
Bob is survived by his wife Margaret Waring Morgan, daughter Lynn Morgan Page, granddaughters Dinah Michelle Holt and Caroline Morgan Page, and great grandson Dillan John Peters.
At the time of his death, Bob was actively involved in tutoring Dillan in the finer points of Devil Ray Baseball. Bob was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He made all of us feel that we were important and loved.
Memorial services will be held at the FUMC Columbarium on Friday at 2:00. A reception will follow at the church parlor.
Memorials may be made to Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park/CCC Museum and Alumni, 5931 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33872.

Bob's easy going nature, smile and wisdom will be greatly missed. One of the men of the "greatest generation," he was a fine man who loved God, family and country. We are glad our paths crossed in life.
