Security OfficerWINTER HAVEN -- Mr. David James Synek of Winter Haven died of heart failure Wednesday (Aug. 24, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 57.Born in Kalamazoo, Mich., on May 7, 1948, Mr. Synek came to Winter Haven from there 35 years ago. He was a security officer. He was a Baptist.Mr. Synek is survived by his wife, Betty J. Synek; daughters, Tammy Casey, Alaska, Jennifer Buchanan, Tulsa, Okla.; stepson, Tony Waters, Winter Haven; stepdaughter, Lori McKown, Winter Haven; mother, Inez Kopperman, Winter Haven; stepfather, Gene Kopperman, Winter Haven; sister, Cheri Smith, Winter Haven; nine grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, Haines City. Steele's Family Funeral Services, Winter Haven.
