DORIS SILVERTHORN Obituary
SILVERTHORN, 95
LAKELAND - Doris Silverthorn passed away on November 16, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland, FL, after a long and active life.
She is survived by her two sons and their families. Richard and Patty Silverthorn are residents of Lakeland, FL. Their daughter Karin Silverthorn lives in Raleigh, NC. Her other son, James and wife Malynna live in Burke, VA. Their son Jeffrey Silverthorn and wife Meghann live in Parker, CO. Doris's other granddaughter Amy lives in Apex, NC.
Doris was born on March 13, 1922 to the late Richard and Bertha Weiderhoef of Erie, PA. She married John Silverthorn on June 23, 1942 with whom she shared 60 wonderful years. In 1980 Doris retired and they moved to a golf course condominium in Vero Beach, FL. She loved golfing and playing bridge, being very accomplished at both. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
After John died, she met and married Steven Riley of Erie in 2006. With Steve's death in 2016 she moved to the Brookdale - Oakbridge in Lakeland, FL to be close to her son Richard and daughter-in-law Patty.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Burton Funeral Home in Erie, PA. Services are planned for Nov 27, 2017 in Erie. Burial will be in the Fairview, PA. Cemetery.

Doris will be remembered fondly by us. During her time with Steve, she was so kind and easy to talk with and interested in family members she knew very slightly. Our thoughts go out to you during this sad time.
