Elizabeth Hammond
Homemaker DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- Mrs. Elizabeth Hammond of Dowagiac, Mich., formerly of Haines City, died of heart failure Friday (May 16, 2003) at Dowagiac Nursing Home. She was 87. Born in Big Flats, Wis., on Nov. 15, 1915, she lived in Haines City before moving to Dowagiac in 1995. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Hammond. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Harris Kemp Allen, Sebastian, Martha "Marti" Wright, Dowagiac; son, Ralph J. "Johnny" Hammond II, Hartford, Mich.; sister, Viola Bisbee Drake, Hartford, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four greatgreat-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens, Auburndale. Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Auburndale.
