LAKELAND - Helene F. Doyle, 88, passed away Mon. 4/30/07 at L.R.M.C. due to respiratory failure.
She was born 5/18/18 in Windsor, VT to Edward and Sarah Hurd. The family moved from Windsor to Springfield, VT in 1925. She graduated from Springfield High in 1936. Mrs. Doyle was an operator for the Springfield Phone Co. and later worked as a receptionist for Bryant Chucking Co. who made grinding equipment for the auto and machinery industry. She was also a pilot and member of the Civil Air Patrol of Vermont. Helene married J. George Doyle on 11/16/1946 who owned Auto Plane in Montreal, Canada. They moved to Florida in 1949 where Mr. Doyle worked at Lykes Pasco for 30 years.
She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her two surviving children, Martha L. Meachum of Denver, Co., son, Richard W. Doyle of Lakeland, and grandsons, Ross & Chris Meachum. Helene was extremely proud of her surviving brother, Richard Hurd, who flew 50 missions with the 376 Bomb Group in WWII including the first Poesti oil field raid, and his wife Shirley. She was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. She served as a volunteer for many years as a Pink Lady with Lakeland General Hospital Auxiliary.
A memorial service will be conducted on Fri., 4 00pm at First Baptist Church @ The Mall.

Richard & Martha - I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Helene's passing. Know you have spoken to Dad & are aware of Mom's surgery. May you find comfort in knowing that the birth of my 1st grandchild happened the same day (her mother is named after your grandmother).
