James Steeves Obituary

James R. Steeves

James R. Steeves, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, after a 2-year battle with cancer. He was born March 26, 1972 and raised in Lakeland, Florida. James absolutely lived life to the fullest and loved to travel. After high school he earned his CDL and took a job driving a "big rig", 53' mobile medical unit around the country, visiting 48 states. James had the gift of gab. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and refurbishing old Jeeps. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his two young daughters. He loved teaching them everything he could, from cooking, outdoor grilling, riding bikes and involving them in home projects like building a bird feeder. He was an avid blood donor, bringing the girls along with him to show the importance of donating. He was always involved in their activities and school functions and made things fun. He was one proud Daddy with whatever they were doing together.

James is survived by his wife Jennifer; their daughters Julia and Jordan; his brother Michael; his sister Dianna White; his father Richard F. Steeves; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Paula E. Steeves.

A celebration of life will be planned for James in the weeks to come.

In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe page has been setup for his girls' college fund at: https://www.gofundme.com/julia-jordan-college-fund
