TANNER BAKER, 70

AUBURNDALE- Joyce Ann Tanner Baker, 70, of Winston-Salem, and Auburndale, FL, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from heart failure.
She was born in Seneca County, Ohio on October 25, 1937, to John Nicholas and Nina Hoy Tanner. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and celebrating holidays, especially Halloween.
She always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh. Even if you didn't know Joyce personally as you entered Sun Trust Bank in Auburndale where she retired after 21.5 years of service you knew her laugh. When Joyce worked as a teller she always had customers waiting in the longest line just so they could visit with her and share a laugh.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Tanner and her sister, Mary Alice Gernert. She is survived by three children, Debi Ann Apathy and her husband Mike, Rodney Baker and his wife Connie and Rebecca Lynn Baker; five grandchildren, Michael (Shannon) Apathy and his wife Beth, Joe Apathy and his wife Brandi, Kim Apathy and her fiance Erik, Kristen Baker and Brent Baker; six great-grandchildren, Aulstyn, Braxton, Christian, Olivia, and Conner Apathy and Jacob Hnasko; a step great-grandson, Daniel Motley; two sisters, Lucy Heimrich and Doris Ross; her brother and laughing partner, John Tanner, and her beloved dog, Trixi.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-5:30 PM (before service) at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held at 5:30 Monday, July 28, 2008 at The Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake, Stella Drive.
