BEREAH, FL. - Lucy M. Butler Bush, age 99 passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her home in Bereah, Florida of heart failure.
She was born in Monticello, Florida to Little Isaac and Sittie (Griffin) Butler. She was a homemaker and self employed in cattle and citrus. She attended the Athens Baptist Church and enjoyed working with her flowers. She had been a resident of Bereah, Florida since 1949 coming from Sebring, Florida.
She is survived by her son Harold Bush (Vonnie) of Bereah, Florida; daughters Betty Barberee (John) of Avon Park, Florida, Winona Crews (Howe) of Avon Park, Florida and Marjorie Newberry (Byron) of Bereah, Florida; sister Virginia Quarels of Okeechobee, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Perry Bush, her son Robert Bush and grandson Steven Newberry.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice of Highlands County.
