LAKELAND - Seth Junior Walters, 92, of Lakeland, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 27, 2021, with his wife Dorothy by his side.
Seth was born in Zanesville, OH on February 16, 1929, to Seth & Esther Walters. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Dorothy Gotschall Walters, his three children Russ (Tana) Walters of Chesapeake, OH, Joyce (Bill) Harless of Crystal River, FL, Geron (Robin) Walters of Mesa, AZ, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Seth & Esther Walters, 7 siblings, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Seth and Dorothy served as members of the Nazarene church in Zanesville, OH, Portsmouth, OH, Charleston, WVA, Huntington, WVA, Macon, GA, and Lakeland, FL. Seth retired from Toledo Scales, Inc after 36 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Lakeland, FL. They served as Sunday School teachers and in other capacities at Highland Park Nazarene Church. During that time they served as Nazarene volunteer missionaries for 9 1/2 years in Haiti. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends here and gone before. Seth's favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed: for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Memorial service will be planned at a later date.
