Sylvester Stevenson Obituary
PIERCE - Sylvester Samuel Stevenson, Jr. passed away on May 4, 2011 of cancer at Good Shepherd Hospice House.
He was born in Pierce, Florida to the late Leola and Sylvester Stevenson, Sr. and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Pierce, Florida. Sylvester was a veteran of the United States Army and an insurance agent.
Sylvester leaves to cherish his memories a loving family: his wife Mildred Helms Stevenson; five children: Wanda White and Trina Stevenson of Lakeland, Gerrodd Stevenson (Sandra) of Belleville, Illinois, Dr. Sophia Cummings (Jerry) of Bowling Green, Sylvester Stevenson III and Cedric Simmons (Candace) of Lakeland; Siblings: Louise McPlatt of Pierce, Frankie Smith (Willie) of Bradley, and Carolyn Stevenson Smith of Mulberry; 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 13th from 5 - 7 P.M. at Oldham Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday @ May 14th at 2 P.M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist

To Frankie Smith & Families:
God saw our friend, "Mooney" getting tired and a cure was not to be. He put his arms around him and whispered "Sylvester Samuel Stevenson, Jr" come to me.
With tearful eyes your family watched and saw him pass away. Although you all loved him dearly, you could not make him stay.
A golden heart stop beating, hard working hands at rest, God broke your hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
