Greg,Chris and Jessie,

Dear God! Judy and I just found out yesterday about Zach. We can't even find the proper word to use to extend our sympathy and grief that we share with you and your families. Judy and I visited your parents just this summer on Reifert St. and they shared with us the more recent photo and Zach. Our neverending prayers will be with you always!
Love to all,

Heaven gained such a sweet angel too soon. He lit up every room he went into. He will be so missed. I'm sorry to his family, but I would all like you to know, because of the Zach's death, today was the first day in a great while I didn't take my life for granted. He made me see there are people who care about you. And whilst I know we'd both rather have him here and we both find that out together, I'm going to think about him every day, and how he's saved my life.

Death be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not soe,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill mee.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then?
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.
John Donne....
I did not know him very well. But because of the hurt I know that he was a great person. I have heard stories by my fellow students and I feel their hurt.
I send my best to his friends and family. I will be attending the funeral.

Dear Chris and Greg,

Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead. We'll always remember Zach as that sweet little boy that he was. We have fond memories of him from the trips we took with the girl scouts to NASA and Sea World when the dads and sons went off on their own. Keep the good memories close. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Zach was one of my best friends since 6th grade when I meet him at middle school. He was one of the koolest people I knew, and we always joked around at whatever we could, he was a great guy, and I know everyone will miss him. RIP Zach

Unlike the other signers, I didn't know Zack well. I knew who he was, heck, he sat behind me, but we didn't talk much. We weren't even friends. I guess that's why I feel like a violator for writing here, but I thought it worth the risk. I wanted you, the ones that loved him best, to know that there are people, including myself, who wish we'd gotten to know him better. Most kids said "who?" when they heard the announcement, and they were shocked to find he had been in our class for some time. We feel, to some degree, guilty. But self-pity can't, won't fix anything. So, from all of us, we are sorry for your loss. We can't pretend to understand it, but we grieve with you, and you have our heartfelt prayers and best wishes. May God bless you all.

We had some good times in English last year also, with his friend Kane (he was a full of laughs). I'll miss Zach and school won't be the same with out him.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
