Alfred Ramsey Obituary
Al was born in Wharton, TX August 17, 1932. He grew up in Louise, TX, graduating from Louise High School. Al was a terrific athlete excelling in both football and basketball. During high school he met and later married the love of his life, Norma Horne. Together they moved to Georgia where Al served in the Army as an instructor at Fort Benning Army Base. After completing his service, they returned to Houston where he finished his education at University of Houston. He supported his family working at Western Auto while attending college. After graduating Al began his career with the Department of Labor, working in Harlingen, Houston, and finally in Dallas as Deputy Regional Administrator for wage and hour where he retired.
Following retirement, he and Norma enjoyed antiquing and spending time with friends. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Al is survived by his wife, Norma; daughters, Candie and son-in-law Chris Wicker of McAllen and Cindie and son-in-law Lewis Brazelton of Houston; grandchildren, Nichole (Victor), Tara (Karl), Hattie, Emmory and Tatum. He is also survived by five great grandchildren: Eleanor, Estella, Owen, Dax and Decker.
Al enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. For all those that knew him he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at the RGV State Veteran's cemetery in Mission.

I worked for Al for several years for Wage Hour in the Dallas Region. He was a good man and an exemplary civil servant. He had a lot of friends, and was respected by all.
