Anthony Guajardo

Weslaco - Anthony Guajardo, 46, passed away on March 4, 2017. He was affectionately known as "Big A" by many. He was big in stature and had a big generous heart. Anthony took much pleasure in helping others in need. A testament to his generosity was evident by the countless number of phone calls, messages, prayer requests and many other acts of kindness during his 7 month battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and left a hollow space in their hearts that only he can fill. Anthony is preceded in death by grandparents, Sylvia and Henry Guajardo, and great-grandmother, Macaria Guajardo. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Rudy and Edna May Saenz . His sisters, Gina Ann Saenz and Erica Marie Garcia, brother in law, Joseph Lee Garcia and nephew Jayden Eric Garcia, also are his aunts, uncles and cousins. Viewing and visitation will take place today Monday March 6, 2017 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home chapel in Weslaco. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 am at St Joan of Arc Catholic church in Weslaco with Fr. Francisco Solis as celebrant. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco. We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Knapp Medical Center Hospice staff and Dr. Robert Sepulveda for their excellent care provided to Anthony and to Father Francisco Solis of St. Joan of Arc for his spiritual guidance and support through this journey. Arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home in Weslaco.
