There are people that we meet throughout our lives that inspire us, motivate us and move us deeply and Darrell was certainly one of those very special people. He will be deeply missed. My heart and prayers go out to his beloved family.

My condolences to the family and friends of Darrell Campbell. May God give you comfort and peace during this difficult time, knowing that he promised a wonderful hope of seeing our loved ones again!

Wow! What a loss for the Campbell family and all that knew him. I had the honor of meeting Darrell through my then husband, Wes Hart. Darrell saved Wes's life. We were in Mexico for a "cable thing". Wes got in the water and Darrell had to swim out a save Wes. I haven't seen Darrell since but I do know he was a wonderful man. I wish the Campbell family nothing but joy in remembering Darrell.

Dear Barbara, Mollie, Maddie and Mark,
I attended school and 4-H with Darrell, and remember his caring nature and exuberant personality. Reading about his life just now, I am assured that you are all supported by the love of Jesus during this difficult time. I pray that your faith continues to sustain you during the days and months ahead, and that His abundant grace pours into your hearts and minds. Even though we have never met, we are family in Christ, and our family lifts you up in prayer.
In Christ,
Kathy (Reim) Reeves with Greg, Emily and Amanda

Dear Barbara, Mollie, Maddie, and Mark:
It is with sadness that I find myself writing to you, but nothing but joy for the fond memories of working with Darrell, and spending time with him and with you Barbara. I especially remember our visit to the cabin in Colorado many years ago, but to me, the memories just seem like it was yesterday.
One of the best 4th of July parades I ever attended was in Buena Vista because of the trip we made to Colorado to visit the two of you and Mollie.
Nothing I can say will fill the void in your heart. I only pray that it is filled with fond memories of the life that Darrell lived, the fine person I know him to be, the many lives that he touched in powerful and positive ways, and the smiles he brought to the people he met along the way.
It has happened before and I expect it will happen again, but when I cannot explain the death of a great person, friend, and mentor, I can only say: God needs good people surrounding him, and today he has another one standing by his side.
Love to you always,
Robert, Judy, Allie and Erin Durham

Dear Barbara, Children and Family,
I just read in the Eagle about your loss. I first got to know Darrell at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital when he came to the Executive office to ask if he could move from another department to the Admitting office. At that time he was going to Baylor. Darrell was a delight to have as he would bring up great suggestions as to improve our admitting process. In 1990 he came to my office in Bryan and asked if he could help me as I had just opened my Express Employment Professionals office. Over the years we have stayed in touch and our office has helped the businesses he was involved in. We will all miss this Christian gentleman and will look forward to seeing him again.
God Bless each of you,
Al and Elizabeth Rampmeier
