Delia Garrett Obituary
She was kind, sweet, and a beautiful person who always put others first. Her kindred spirit was always seen in the way she lit up a room with her smile and a wink of an eye. Her profession as a nurse was her calling as she was a nurturer and loved caring for everyone. As a devoted wife, she taught us the value of a loving marriage and to place trust in God. She treasured moments with her family especially her grandchildren. If Dee Dee wasn't volunteering at her church, you would find her gardening, sewing, or cooking up something special in the kitchen.
She is predeceased by her parents and husbands, Harold Leroy Reynolds and Amos Garrett, siblings, Leonard and Oliver Sheives, Margaret Lookingbill, and stepson Roy Garrett. She is survived by children, Eddie Reynolds (Martha), James Reynolds (Bettye), Letty Derr (Bobby), caregiver, Ruben Salazar, stepdaughters, Cheryl Ryan (David) and Diana Speaks, grandchildren, Jason Reynolds, Reagan Reynolds (Ez), Nicole Karam (David), Jana Efstratis (Teddy), Robbie and Ashley Reynolds, and Robyn Lueck (Bill), great Grandchildren, Natalie Karam, Grant, and Rowen Reynolds, Clay and Linzy Lueck.
Visitation will be at McCaleb Funeral home, Weslaco on October 28th from 6-8 pm. Graveside service will be on October 29th at 10 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
The family would like to thank John Knox Village, Ruben Salazar, and Anita Vallejo for the care and compassion they showed to Delia.

My heart aches for you and ur family. I loved ur mother and her spirit. She always made ur sleep-overs incredibly fun. (She was just like one of us.) I will always remember her infectious smile and warm heart. Your mom was an amazing lady who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
