Emma Burnett Obituary
Emma Burnett was in the first graduating class from the then "new" Odessa High School (OHS) at 13th Street and Golder Avenue, and the first graduating class from Odessa College. After retirement, she returned to college and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont.
Emma Burnett was married to the late trial lawyer, Warren Burnett, and is survived by their four children: Abner Burnett, McAllen, Texas; Melissa Hale Burnett, Midland, Texas; Paul Burnett, Houston, Texas; and Dakota Kelly Hester, San Antonio, Texas.
A celebration of her life will be held in San Antonio, Texas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the local arts organization of your choice.

I knew Emma and we worked together 35 years ago in Portland Oregon. On Sunday mornings we would go to the Episcopal cathedral together and then open up the womens store in Beaverton together. I have never forgotten her. An amazing lady and a good friend.

I met Emma in McAllen when she stayed at Studio 6 for a short time. She was a very special lady. I will miss seeing her and Moxie. I will miss having lunch with her this winter. She always enjoyed getting out and about. I'll miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her familyShirley

Missy and Emma adopted me when I really needed another family. I have always been, and will continue to be grateful. I remember Emma as an amazing force of nature. Brainy and beautiful.
