GEORGE VALDEZ Obituary
EDINBURG - George G. Valdez, 72, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Weslaco, Mr. Valdez had lived in Edinburg all of his life and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dionicio and Rafaela Valdez; five brothers, Domingo, Manuel, Roberto, Bernabe and Merced Valdez; and four sisters, Juliana Valadez, Inocencia Celedon, Elisa Gallardo and Martha Serrano.
Mr. Valdez is survived by his wife, Dominga G. Valdez of Edinburg; four children, George Valdez, Jr., Daniel (Elena) Valdez, David (Marivel) Valdez, all of Edinburg, Sandra (Lupe) Cadena of McAllen; 11 grandchildren, George III, Stephen, Jacob, Joseph, Jared, Matthew, David Jr., Justin, Kayla, Vanessa and Audrey; a brother, Erasmo Valdez of Mercedes; and three sisters, Juanita Leal of Sanger, California, Francisca Rendon of Elsa and Maria Delia Ramirez of Weslaco.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, today June 26, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.

it is kenny . i am going to miss my buddy. i missed talking with him .i did not just hang with him i have been around 36 to 38 years . george is my brother to me. i just got home on the 20th. kenny.condolences to all family an friends.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all family members, including aunts, uncle(s), in-laws, and cousins of the Valdez family.

Our condolences to the Valdez Family. I did not have the honor of personally knowing Mr. Valedez. But I do know his son Danny. There is a saying, "The fruit does not fall far from the tree". If this is true Mr. Valdez was a gentleman who was respected by many and loved by many more and he will be deeply missed.
