IMELDA REYES

IMELDA REYES HIDALGO - IMELDA REYES, 53, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Born in McAllen, Mrs. Reyes was actively teaching at Hidalgo Elementary and had a total of 17 years vested with the Hidalgo Independent School District. Some of Imelda's favorite things consisted of making jewelry, shopping, going to the movies and her over all favorite was attending her sons' baseball games and arguing with the baseball coach a/k/a her husband and love of her life, Alonzo Reyes, Jr. The light of her life were her two loving sons and her adoring grandson, Alex. Mrs. Reyes is preceded in death by her father Bonifacio Sanchez and her brother, Exiquio Sanchez. She survived by her husband, Alonzo Reyes, Jr., her mother Aurora Uribe Sanchez, both from Hidalgo; two sons, Alonzo (Cristina) Reyes, III of Edinburg and Mark Anthony Reyes of Hidalgo; sister, Sylvia (David) Hernandez of Edinburg; three brothers Ramiro (Rosie) Sanchez of McAllen, Roberto (Norma) Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez all from Hidalgo. Visitations will begin today, Monday, March 23, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service being held at Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church of McAllen. Burial will follow at Hidalgo City Cemetery in Hidalgo. The Sanchez and Reyes families entrusted arrangements and services to the care of Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen.
