Jose Tanguma Obituary
Jose was born June 26, 1943 in Alamo, Texas to Vicente and Dolores Tanguma. He worked for Cole's the Cash Register Company as a service manager and eventually purchased the company, changing the name to CTCR Solutions where he continued to work until his passing. He volunteered as a baseball coach in both San Juan and Donna where he shared his love of baseball with the youth of both communities over a span of 40 years. His favorite pastimes were barbecuing and watching America's Team, five-time Super Bowl Champions, the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many activities, including sporting events, band performances, and graduations.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Judith "Judy" Tanguma, daughter Laura Tanguma, parents Vicente and Dolores Tanguma, brother Leonel Tanguma, and sister Yolanda T. Garza.
Jose is survived by his children, Diana (Israel Munoz) Montano of Donna, Melissa Tanguma of Waco, Debra (Joe) Gongora of Waco, Leonel Tanguma of San Juan, and Linda Tanguma of Donna; his grandchildren, Aaron Munoz, Katarina Munoz, Cristian Munoz, Delilah Gongora, Elijah Gongora, Josiah Gongora, and Maliah Gongora. He is also survived by his siblings, Guadalupe (+Eugene) Dixon of South Carolina, Maria (+Roger) Kirsh of Harlingen, Emma (Pedro) Pompa of San Juan, Gilberto(Lupita)Tanguma of San Juan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary today, November 20, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
