I was very surprised and sorry to hear about Tio Joe passing, I only just met him a few years back and wish I could've got to know him better. The 1st time I met Uncle Joe, he asked me if I smoked, and not knowing why he asked the question and after some hesitation, I answered honestly, I said yes, I did smoke, he must've known I did, because he pulled a lighter out of his pocket, it lit up when you pressed the igniter, and gave it to me as a gift, the lighter no longer works, but I still have it. After all the years I was gone, all he showed was kindness and acceptance. To all my cousins, my deepest sympathy and prayers are with you.
Love,
Maria Roberta and Jacob

My Uncle Joe was a great guy. I really looked up to him and I called him every chance I got. i remember when we were kids how he would pull pranks and make us laugh. He was always in a joyous mood. We will miss him and always remember and keep his memory close to our hearts. I love you Tio.

We remember as children going to Tio Jose's house when we lived in Chicago. It was something we looked forward to because we would play with our cousins. He was tall and handsome and reminded us of Elvis Presley. When we moved back to the Rio Grande Valley, Tio Jose would call our parents' house and instead of greeting us with the usual "hello", he would greet us by saying "Ochichornia!". We will always have fond memories of him deep in our hearts. He will be grealy missed.

my husband Cookie and myself Thelma O. Garcia worked with Joe for many years at TRW and even after he left TRW he would come down to visit us at TRW. He always had this smile with him and it was very joyful to be around him. he was a very nice man and good, dear friend to us. He will be missed by many. May the lord bless his family and may his soul rest in peace.
