Julio Guzman

1934 - 2024

McAllen - Julio Guzman, 89, peacefully departed this world on August 4, 2024, in his hometown of McAllen, Texas. Born on September 27, 1934, in Edinburg, Texas, Julio devoted much of his life to his community and his faith.

A graduate of Pan American University, Julio built a respected career as a Certified Public Accountant for over 50 years. He also served diligently on the McAllen Methodist Hospital board for several years. He served 15 years on the McAllen ISD school board, striving for equality in education and lowering taxes for his community.

In his leisure, Julio enjoyed watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Julio is survived by his loving wife, Janet Guzman; his son, Adrian Guzman; his daughter, Alexine de los Santos; and his cherished grandchildren, Owen Guzman, Liam de los Santos, and Abby de los Santos; his stepson Mike Nasso and his stepdaughter Michelle Nasso; his step grandchildren Carter, Charlie and Max Nasso, Krista Robertson, Megan Mitchell, Dardyn Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anita Calvillo, Richard Guzman and Teresa Hessbrook.

To honor the remarkable life and faith lived by Julio, we invite all those whose lives he touched to pay their last respects at a visitation at Kreidler Funeral Home on August 17th, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. A private burial will be announced at a later date.

Julio's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his career, and his faith. His legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
