Leonel Sanchez Obituary

McAllen - Leonel "Teto" Sanchez passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, November 14, 2018. He died at his home surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Alicia Palomarez. He is survived by his children, Mariselda S. Flores, Hermelinda Escobar, Inez Thomas, Leonel Sanchez Jr., Lucinda Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez, and Melissa Sanchez, 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was a musician and dance promoter. In 1964 he moved his family to California where he built a musical career promoting other bands, having weekly dances called "El Baile Grande" in various cities in California. He also had a daily radio show and weekly Sunday morning show called "El Show De Leonel Sanchez". In 1972 he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and led his whole family, including his parents, brothers, sisters, and their children to the Lord. He served the Lord for the remainder of his days, preaching and singing to spread the gospel.

He lived his life with pride and dignity, he handled his illness and passing with grace. His greatest loves were his wife, Alicia P. Sanchez, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He has left a tremendous void in their lives, never to be filled. He is greatly loved by his family and will be missed always.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your loved one. Jeremiah 29:11, 12 assures us that God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope, and that if we come and pray to Him, He will listen to us. May you have peace, in this time of deep sorrow.
