MARGARET JAMES Obituary
McALLEN - Margaret E. James passed away on October 18,2011 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen after a brief illness at the age of 88. Margaret was born in Missouri in 1922. She moved to the Valley with her family at a very young age. She attended McAllen schools and graduated from high school at the age of 16. She worked with her parents in their restaurant before going to work for Valley Production Credit Association where she made many lifelong friends. She retired from Valley Production Credit Association in 1984 with over 40 years of service. After her retirement she enjoyed many cruises to Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Ann Cook. She is survived by her son Robert (Cathy) James of McAllen, one granddaughter and a sister Virginia Goodwin of Mico, Texas. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her two faithful caregivers, Ali and Yolanda.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, October 19 with a Rosary at 5 p.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home. A Graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 20 at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

Dear Bob, Cathy and Family,
Please accept our sympathy of the death of Margaret. Your beautiful memories of her will always give you and yours strength, especially during this difficult time. Please be assured of our prayers and remember God's Promise Poem. I will miss her but will always cherished our calls and her continued kindness. God bless you.
