MARIA PERALEZ Obituary
HARLINGEN - Maria Elia Peralez, 60, was born on June 2, 1949, and entered the Lord's heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
She was an avid employee of 34 years for Valley Baptist Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas Pena, Sr. & Celestina Lopez; brother, Tomas Pena, Jr., and half brother, Horacio Rivas.
Maria Elia is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Mauricio Peralez; daughter, Delia Peralez; sons, Abel & Sergio Peralez, and stepson, Mauricio Peralez, Jr., of Gardner, KS, son of Mauricio Peralez; sisters, Suzy (Fil) Pena, Tina (Marcos) Mercado, & Imelda (Ricardo) Vela; brother, Guadalupe (Dina) Pena; and four grandchildren, Sebastian Aiden Peralez, Ashton Nicole Peralez, Jordan Peralez, and Logan Peralez.. She is also survived by her loving aunt Maria Lopez and cousin Edna Torres both of McAllen; her mother-in-law, Santos B. Peralez; brother-in-laws, Jose Angel Peralez, Ismael Peralez, Enrique Peralez, Arturo Peralez, Rogelio Peralez, Noe Peralez, Eloy Peralez, & Alejandro Peralez; sister-in-laws, Isabel P. Gonzalez, Irene P. Colbath, & Rosaura P. Valdez, and numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held today, January 15, 2010 from 4 P.M. to 9 P.M. at Ceballos Funeral Home with holy rosaryto be recited at 7 P.M.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mauricio Peralez, Jr., Alberado Peralez, Sergio Peralez, Mauricio Peralez, Sr., Guadalupe Pena and Eloy Peralez.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home in Harlingen.

We still can't believe she's gone. Mary was a great woman ! We are truly saddened by her passing. We will greatly miss her and her wonderful way of brightening up a room. Our thoughts are with her entire family at this time of great sorrow.

There are never the right words to express how deeply sad I am about the loss of your loved one. Elia as we all knew and called her at school will be truly missed by everyone who knew her no matter where we crossed her path in life. Elia was one of my best classmate and friend. She was wonderful and loving person, always there to help no matter how busy she was. Her friendship meant a lot to the class of 1969 and we will surely miss her greatly. Memories of our times spend together as friends and classmate will be forever held dear to us. Your loss is also our loss. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
