Ofelia Yanez Obituary
She was born November 1, 1931 in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was a longtime resident of Donna.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose "Pepe" Yanez; her parents Manuel Botello and Higinia Rios De Botello; sisters, Elida Botello, Leonor Botello Castillo, Emilda Botello Rodriguez; brothers, Ruben Botello and Rubio Botello.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Elia (Javier) Rodriguez; sister, Imelda Botello Hinojosa, Ninfa Solis Villa and brother Rogelio (Isabel) Botello Rios; sister-in-law, Imelda Yanez; granddaughters, Yesenia Rodriguez, Yram (Rodrigo) Leal, Karina (Josh) Kinsey; great-granddaughters, Kaleah Rodriguez and Lilliana Leal. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was a longtime member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed traveling, playing slot machines and tending to her garden.
Our most sincere thanks and gratitude for the care of my mother, to Dr. Pedro Arrazola, Dr. Norman Ramirez, Dr. Jose Bejarano at Weslaco Nursing & Rehab; M & S Home Health, especially to Jorge who cared so patiently when my mother was at home; to Weslaco Nursing & Rehab staff for their caring patience. We will be forever grateful for your kindness and caring.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday June 1, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary. Funeral mass will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Burial will follow at Donna City Cemetery.
