RICARDO JAVIER ZAMORA LA JOYA Ricardo Javier Zamora, 49, died peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Ricardo was born in McAllen on September 6, 1965 and was the son of Agustin and Ester (Flores) Zamora of La Joya. Ricardo was a graduate of La Joya High School in 1984, upon graduation he began his career as a security officer for the La Joya Independent School District in 1991, he then later became a Reserve Police Officer with the City of Palmview from 1994-1998, and the City of La Joya from 2000 to 2001. Ricardo later transitioned to the La Joya ISD Police Department where he served as a dedicated Police Officer for many years, his example of courage, dedication and passion for public service will always be remembered. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by aunts and uncles, Daniel (Estela B.) Zamora, Socorro Gonzalez of Mission, TX, Aguinaldo (Cristina) Zamora, Rosalinda Young of New Braunfels, TX , Merced Flores (Ramiro Zapata) of McAllen, TX, Lavinia Flores of La Joya, TX, Maria G. Zamora of Donna, TX, Minnie Gutierrez Zamora from Donna, TX, Estela Ramos Zamora from Peñitas, TX. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Agustin and Rosa Zamora; maternal grandparents, Febronio and Guadalupe G. Flores; aunts and uncles, Irineo Gonzalez, Roberto Zamora, Ernestina Zamora, Hector Zamora, Manuel Flores, and Raul Young. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 1 pm to 9 pm with a 7 pm Rosary at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 3 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission. Interment will follow to Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
