Robert Davila Obituary
MISSION - Clad in his Texas Longhorn shirt and his Dallas Cowboy cap, Robert Davila, Jr. tackled his way into Heaven on October 28, 2007. Rejoicing with joy, The Lord and Bob's father, Robert Davila, Sr, were there waiting for a touchdown.
Bob is the son of Robert Davila Sr+ and Gloria Esmelda Cavazos-Davila. He was born on January 18, 1968, in Laredo, Texas where he attended the Laredo Public Schools. He attended Laredo Junior College and transferred to the University of Texas where he graduated with a degree from the School of Pharmacy in 1990. He practiced his profession in Dallas and continued doing so in the Rio Grande Valley. Preceding him in death are his father Robert Davila, Sr.; sister, Debbie; grandparents Leopoldo (Elida) Cavazos, Jesus (Enriqueta) Davila and other relatives.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Tammy Davila and his children Robert Jesus, Ethan Jude, Robert "Rocky" Davila III, Hope Gabriella, Jake, Faith Melody, and Grace Isabella; his mother Mela; sister Cindy (Eddie) Alejos; brother Danny (Cris) Davila and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.
His passions were the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys; one day he bled blue and the other burnt orange. On days he had to work, he would tape the games and not allow anyone to tell him who won so he could enjoy the games later. He loved football and boxing but he adored his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Rojas Jr., Ricardo Cavazos, Joey Rios III, Leopoldo Cavazos, III, Guillermo Pro, David Cruz, Javier Coronado, Joe Davis, Omar Cavazos, and Leroy Cavazos.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate outdoor plants for a memorial garden.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, October 31, 2007, with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Cremation will follow.
Funeral services are entrusted to the care of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.

My deepest sympathies to the Davila Family. I have known Bob since the 4th grade at Heights Elementary School. Bob was a dear friend, I always looked forward to seeing and visiting with him at Nixon High School Reunions. He was a wonderful listener and always helped me and I am sure others to see the silver lining during difficult times.
