Rose Pena Obituary
RIO GRANDE CITY - Rose Marie Pena, 66, entered into eternal rest to be with the angels standing side by side with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec 26, 2006, at Doctors Hospital At Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas.
Rose Marie was born in Alice, Texas on April 23, 1940, but a lifelong resident of her beloved Rio Grande City until the day of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramiro and Christina Haltiner Ramirez; her triplet sisters, Helen Marie and Ann Marie Ramirez; her grandparents, John and Lolita Haltiner, Leandro and Anita Ramirez.
She survived by her husband, Adolfo Pena Sr.; and her daughter, Christina (Jesse); son, Adolfo ( Beatriz) Pena and their children, Jacqueline, Brian, Ramiro Pena. Also serviving are her aunts, uncle, and very loving and close friends.
Rose was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Rose was an educator for a total of 38 years, teaching at Rio Grande City High, La Union Elementary, and later became Educational Administrator at Roque Guerra Elementary, La Grulla Elementary, and retired from Alto Bonito Elementary as principal. Rose loved her job and was a role model to all other educators and students alike. The impact she made in her students will forever be a lesson in life as was in education. Funeral Mass will be today, Friday, Dec 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City. Burial will follow at Rio Grande City Cemetery in Rio Grande City, Tx. Pallbearer will be Eric Garcia, Jessie Garcia, David Garza, Tomas Ramirez III., Valentine Medina Jr. Jaime Garza. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodolfo Martinez, Ralph E. Martinez, Joseph Nolan, Eliseo Martinez, Tomas Ramirez Jr.. Leandro Ramirez. Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City is in charge of arrangements.

To the Pena, Ramirez and Haltiner Families,
Rose has joined her sisters and parents in heaven. Those of us that remain will miss her deeply.
Fidelio and I have many wonderful memories of Rose and Ann and those memories will be a comfort to us. We pray that you also will find much comfort in the memories in your hearts of your wife, mother, aunt, niece and cousin.
God grant Rose and Ann the much deserved peace that Jesus promised.
