Viola Escobar Obituary

Dripping Springs, TX - Viola Escobar, 85, of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on August 24, 2025.

Viola was born in Escobares Texas and raised in McAllen, Texas, where she developed deep roots in her family, faith, and community. She was a cheerleader during her high school years, full of energy and spirit that carried throughout her life. After graduation, she began working for Doctors Beardsley and Beardsley Optometry, where she dedicated more than 35 years of service before retiring.

Family was at the center of Viola's life. She poured her love and care into her 27 nieces and nephews, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom adored her. She was affectionately known as an amazing aunt, always present, supportive, and deeply devoted to each of them.

Viola was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen, Texas, where she had been an active parishioner since 1947. Her faith was an important part of her life, guiding her in her devotion to family and community.

She is survived by her brother, Noel Escobar of McAllen, Texas, along with her many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Roman Escobar and Filia Escobar Moreno, sisters Alicia Muñoz, Dalia Rivera, Delia Aikman, Eustacia Bravo, Noelia Escobar, Anita Escobar and her brothers Enoch Escobar, Eli Escobar, Eleazar Escobar and Roman Escobar Jr.

Viola's warmth, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Mass intention will be Thursday, September 25th, 8:15 a.m. (Spanish Mass) at Sacred Heart in McAllen.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date, with services to be held this fall.
