In 1971 Dan hired a broke college student to work on his farm after he found out I was selling blood to stay in school. one evening he sent me to Saginaw airport to pick up a baby cougar hed bought for his wife Sue. I brought it home in the back of a 1965 Mustang in a snow storm. Together we took on a lot of big jobs and I respected his energy his intellect and his commitment to his patients. Dan and I stayed friends for over forty years and through my military career Dan would often visit when I was promoted or changing command. Dan was a loyal friend. Denise and I miss him a great deal. He made a difference in this world and thats what matters.

What a sad day today is. I was a friend of Dan's since high school and he recently visited my wife and I in California. I had no idea that he had passed away till I called his office to see why I hadn't heard from him lately. His visit with us was the first time we had met since college and it was such a wonderful gift to be able to see him again. He was such a truly giving and generous person. My wife and I were looking forward to seeing him again this fall and he will be sorely missed. To all his family and friends I would like to offer my sincere condolences and hope that you are all well.

Dr. Dan Dean was one of the most compassionate people I ever met. He saved my 3 yr. old son from having more unnecessary surgeries and helped a very close friend of mine to receive her well deserved Social Security. I fully agree that he did go well beyond the limits when helping people and he never gave up. He will be truly missed. Sandy A. Mt. Pleasant, Mi

Dr. Dean was our family Dr. for 25-30 years. He will be impossible to replace. They don't make them like you anymore. You truely cared about your patients. This past year you saved our son Joshua from an infection that was close to entering his brain. You saw what was happening and treated him best you could (meds etc.) for free because he had no insurance. You then went to bat for him, you was his advocate, you helped him get medicaid so he could get the much needed surgery at UofM hospital. You were always checking to see how he was doing. You made a huge impression on Josh Doc. He knows if it wasn't for you and many prayers he might not be here today. Watching you with Josh last year it was like he was one of your own children. You cared that much and you were going to make sure he was taken care of. We will never forget that!!! You have truely left a mark and a void in the Parks family. Love and miss ya Doc.

“Dr. Dan C. Dean, D.O.”

What a tragic loss for so many. Dr.Dean has been my physician for over 40 years and has healed my parents, spouse, children and relatives countless times.
I just saw him Tuesday in his office & we discussed his recent contribution (check) to our local Toys for Tots Program and how important it was for needy children to receive gifts and for children to be taught to give gifts to those less fortunate. He thanked me for all my families & my efforts to organize this program.
He always asked how "The Boys" were...my 2 sons...we talked about my oldest son,David who as a high school student was allowed to work in Dr. Dean's office so he could aspire to be an E.R. Trauma doctor today @ Mt. Clemens hospital. He took care of my youngest, Skylar since he was a new born, now he's 27 yrs. old and is an electrical engineer...he really enjoyed hearing about "The Boys"
As he moved around the area during the past 40 years I followed him because he was so entangled in our family & I truly believed he CARED about his patients...
Well, I could go on & on about a man who gave so much to so many for such a long time...I will truly miss him and our "talks"...My sincere sympathy to his family, employees & patients - he will be missed by a community...Thank You for sharing him with us.

As a pharmaceutical representative, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Dean a few years ago. He was always very pleasant, sincere, welcoming & ready for a quick joke at any moment. At a dinner program, he recommended a great tasting $10 Hungarian wine. Unbenounced to him, I came from a Hungarian family with 10 kids. Those wine bottles became Christmas gifts for all of my siblings that year. My family was very grateful as it brought back memories of our Hungarian mother who had passed away a year earlier. She too, loved her wine. Here's a "TOAST TO YOU, DR. DEAN!!!"
