David Thompson Obituary
He was born in Jackson, Michigan on September 23, 1947 to the late Henry and Ruth (Glaspie) Thompson. David "Dave" married the former Lorraine "Lorrie" Pflum on August 14, 1970 in Mancelona, Michigan. He worked as an accountant at Central Michigan Community Mental Health for nearly 30 years where he made many lifelong friends along the way.
Dave enjoyed spending time with friends and family more than anything. Any moment he was able to see his daughters and his grandchildren gave him great joy. He loved vacationing, especially when it involved a beach. He also loved cheering on Michigan State Spartans basketball. Since Dave and Lorrie moved to their dream home at Bear Lake their favorite past times include taking evening boat cruises and golf cart rides. Survived by his wife, Lorrie, of 52 years.
Daughters: Nicole (Joey) Nalepa of Oswego, Illinois and Jennifer Schoeck of Naperville, Illinois. Grandchildren: Dylan, Ethan, Erin, and Morgan.
Great grandson: Elijah. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Warren and Keith, and twin sisters Jean and Joanne. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2022 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Celebration of David's Life will begin at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be at Coldsprings Township Cemetery at a later date.
