Gerald Huber Obituary

Gerald “Jerry� Huber; age 79 of Shepherd passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Jerry was born October 26, 1942 the son of Donald and Marie (Conroy) Huber in Isabella County. He married Dorothy Epple on November 30, 1963. He graduated from Sacred Heart in Mt. Pleasant in 1961. Jerry retired from Dow Chemical after 30 years of service. After he retired he was a County Commissioner for 6 years. Jerry wintered in Dade City, FL for 23 years where he was a dedicated usher for the Detroit Tigers for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, camping, and his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Jerry is survived by his wife Dorothy; 5 children Karla (Tom) MacDonald, Don (Kim) Huber, Kathy (Ed) Hall, Kay (Scott) McGuire, and Jeff (Patti) Huber; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way; 5 siblings Rita (Carl) Eisenberger, Esther (John) Haupt, Jim (Nonie) Huber, Bob (Gail) Huber, Patty (John) McHugh, and Larry Bullard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded by both his parents; siblings Donna Bullard, Ed Huber, Ruth Abbott, and Ken Huber; and son-in-law Dave Murphy. Services for Jerry will be Friday, September 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church with Father Fred Kawka officiating. People are encouraged to wear their Detroit Tigers gear for services. There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 8 at St. Vincent de Paul from 2-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made on behalf of Jerry to Residential Hospice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Berry Funeral Home.
