Joyce A. Switzer

Joyce A. Switzer, age 82 of Weidman, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was born January 1, 1941 in Lakeview, MI, the daughter of Wayne and Thelma (Simmons) Meeker.

Joyce had a passion for playing and listening to music that she shared with her husband, Allen. She was proficient in playing the harp, clarinet, whistle, hammered dulcimer, and many other instruments. They enjoyed playing at many different music festivals across the country. Joyce and Allen also participated in many Renaissance Fairs for 29 years as the Puckerbrush Players. Joyce always looked forward to going on family camping trips and traveled to every state except Hawaii. She lived for many years in north eastern Michigan, adoring life on the farm with Allen. Joyce loved spending time and laughing with the Bunce, Meeker, Switzer and Simmons families.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Allen; children, Sherry (RJ) Evans, Larry (Deb) Switzer; siblings, Linda (Michael) Ehr, John (Lynn) Meeker; several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and mother and father-in-law, Oscar and Iva Switzer.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with visitation one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Ferris Center Cemetery in Vestaburg.
